CISRC Research Centre

Exploring faith, culture, and community through scholarship.

Equal Access International proudly partners with the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies on Religions and Culture (CISRC) in Indonesia to advance research, dialogue, and education that strengthen peace and resilience across communities.

The Center for Interdisciplinary Studies for Religion and Culture (CISRC)

is dedicated to advancing understanding, dialogue, and collaboration between Muslims and Christians in Indonesia and beyond. Our programs combine research, education, and community engagement to foster peace and resilience.

Transformative Teaching & Learning

CISRC offers open and reflective learning opportunities on Islam, Christianity, and their interrelations. Academic staff provide guidance for undergraduate and postgraduate students, supporting independent study, research, and final assignments.

Academic Research

We conduct research on Muslim–Christian encounters and related fields, sharing results through books, journals, and articles. Current areas of focus include:

  • Peacebuilding across faith communities
  • Perceptions of revelation in Islam and Christianity
  • History of Muslim–Christian encounters in Indonesia
  • Interdisciplinary approaches to religion in public life

Public Education

CISRC hosts seminars, webinars, and symposiums to address contemporary issues in Muslim–Christian relations. Programs are designed for both the wider public and religious practitioners, encouraging thoughtful engagement with pressing social and spiritual questions.

Character & Spiritual Development

Our programs nurture personal growth and community well-being. Activities include peace camps, women’s empowerment initiatives, and monthly Muslim–Christian scripture study groups. These gatherings foster mutual respect and shared commitment to applying insights from sacred texts in daily life.

Academic Journal Publication

To strengthen the field of Muslim–Christian studies, CISRC is developing a peer-reviewed academic journal, recognized nationally (SINTA) and internationally (Scopus). This journal will serve as a platform for research and dialogue at both scholarly and practical levels.

Learning Resources

CISRC provides specialized resources in Islam, Christianity, and interfaith relations. Our library currently houses more than 1,500 physical volumes and 5,000 e-books, with plans for continued growth in both print and digital collections
